“Oh..you’ve been to alaska?”
“yea… I’m military….I’ve been alot of places.”
“yea… I’m military….I’ve been alot of places.”
“you mean– your husband is military.”
“no… I mean–I’m military.”
“oh really???”
“really.”
So goes a conversation I had today with a stranger. Funny how many think that in a military family- the man is the one in the military. No harm done…. but today, I had my “ah-ha” moment. For the first time in a long time, I was proud to say… “no, not my husband–me”. I’m in the military and have been for a long time. I had lost that joy I first felt when I enlisted 23years ago. and today, I felt proud to say I wear the uniform.
It’s hard going back to work- but somewhere deep inside of me—
I love the Army.
