New Year’s Eve

As the year closes it is time to reflect on 2009.
2009 was a wonderful year, I am sad to see it go. The year started with the birth of my miracle. My faith was restored and my family was completed. Having a little one so late in life has taught me to slow down and to focus on what is important in life:
God
Family
Friends
Fitness

2009 has been eye opening and refreshing. I’ve discovered Facebook, Twitter, and I’ve continued to develop friendships with people who have pretty much the same interest as I do. I haven’t run many races this year, but look forward to 2010 so that I can jump back into it once again.

I’ve taken my first step towards changing my career by returning to school and it has been wonderful!! I look forward to completing this course and actually getting to work as an MT. 2009 has not been bad at all… I realized more and more how much God has His hand on me and mine. I’ve realized that validation comes from above, not from man and that has made all the difference. It has taken 40 years and many tears to realized that I don’t have to prove my value to anyone, and stress is me trying to change others.
2010 is the year I step out on faith! And yes, the “Goops” are going to be there, always trying to bring me down. Always trying to prove they are better, stronger, faster, and smarter. They might be. They might not be.
2010, I don’t care!!!
2010 is my goopbuster year!!!!

The Goops they lick their fingers,
and the Goops they lick their knives;
They spill their broth on the tablecloth,
Oh, they lead disgusting lives!

Firming

Well with the new year comes letting go of old things……

I am going through my workout DVDs and VHS to decide what I want to keep on my shelf and what I want to give away. The numbers are starting to add up, so naturally, it is time to purge. But I will not let go of a DVD/VHS without actually doing the workout one last time as a way to say “good-bye”. So the next week I am going old school. I started with the FIRM and have all of the Classics (thanks Goodwill).

The FIRM week is following the posted 90-day rotation- week 1:

Monday: Body Sculpt/Ab Sculpt (2 mile run @ 11:30)
Tuesday: Not-so tough Aerobics/Jiggle-free Abs
Wednesday: Abs, Hips & Thighs sculpting (5 mile TEMPO run @ 9:20)
Thursday: Tough Tape 2/5Day Abs
Friday: Tough Aerobic Mix/Ab Sculpt
Saturday/Sunday: Firm Classics Vol. 3 (6 mile EASY run @ 11:30)

Of course the running is my added Stress-free time that I am not willing to give up right now.

One more thing that I need to finish up; I’ve been reading this book for over a month now…and it is time to finish it up. I want to complete the whole series.

We will not talk about what I will be eating!!!

Keep running,
Keep loving,
Keep living Stress-free,
Skyy

What a December

It’s time to update my workout schedule. As you can see, I am mixing it up with some of my workout DVD’s. This week I will spend some time with Jackie and Tony. I will add one day of Denise Austin just to get a mellow instructor— yea right, I put Denise on when I need a perky gal on the T.V. Not saying that Tony isn’t perky enough!! You got to love Tony. His one on one’s are great.

This month I have banned myself from E-bay!!! Hubby is scratching his head and cursing Paypal!!! LOL

No new Drama….. But hubby has a solution to combating unwanted drama….Shut up and run!!! Love that man.

Monday: 6 mile run/ Killer Abs

Tuesday: Jackie W Power Circuit Training//Fountain of Youth Yoga

Wednesday: 3 mile run/Killer Abs

Thursday: Spinning (Spinervals 1.0)/stretch

Friday: Jackie W Power Circuit Training/ Power Yoga Plus (Denise Austin)

Saturday: Cardio Coach Press Play (7 mile run)

Sunday: Active Rest

16 mile run week with circuits, yoga, spinning and Abs. You couldn’t ask for anything better.

This week received two secret Santa gifts. Seems like my fitness buddies know me so much better than people I spend my days with J Loving the Boot-camp, cookbook, and especially the coffee mug!!! Thanks Kathy!!

My Abs are getting stronger!!! My mind is getting clearer!!!

Career Step

So it’s been a month so far since I’ve signed on with Career Step. So far it has been wonderful. The workbooks are helping me get a better understanding of what will be expected as a Medical Transcriptionist. It is really funny how I quickly can identify myself as a MT student over anything else I might be doing now.

I have been searching the web to see which MT school would be the best choice and realized that I stepped into the “great debate” as to which is better: M-Tec, Andrews, or Career Step.

So I’ve decided to stay with Career Step, but also add a few extra materials to help me get a better understanding of the whole process.

Ab rehab is going well. I am feeling muscles that I’m sure I haven’t felt in years!! 15 years to be exact.

Live stress-free,
Skyy

Nice weekend… thanks to my little sis for helping out!!! Anna is happy. Looking at the pics we took of her this weekend– how is it possible that she looks like her Aunt Karen?

very restful.
The weekend was spent studying Grammar & Punctuation. I realize that it has been a long time since I’ve study Grammar!!! But is nice to know that I’ve retained at least enough to score a 85%. I will be retaking the test.

I’m still hurting after my Skyy Rounds day before yesterday. But it is a good hurt. Also Ab rehab is going good. It is showing me how weak my ab muscles are!! Everyone feels the same way as to me about having needed more time to heal before doing a test @ 6 months post-partum. It has been so eye opening on how people’s hidden agenda’s affect how they communicate with others.
It is easy to put others down to take them out of the running for—-say a promotion– so that someone who is more favored has a better chance. Then smile at everyone and pretend there is concern. But on the inside– rejoicing that the favored one has less competition.

Here’s my nugget for today: Favored/not favored— it doesn’t matter to me. What matters is your integrity and how well you do your job. In heaven we’re all favored. Here on earth…. some of us have a harder time than others. But through it all…. I favor me… that that’s all that matters.

Me… just being me…

I really wasn’t feeling it today, but I had to do my skyy rounds. I did feel energized when I was on the final rounds. It feels really good to be able to workout at home. I guess that I am becoming more and more a “home body”. Once I finish my schooling for Medical Transcription- I will be able to work from home as well. I would never have to leave the house!!!!

Wonder if I will get on my own nerves????

still stress-free,
Skyy
